Our guests love to grill year-round, so it’s always the perfect time to heat up the grill at Dream Dacha!  Whether you’re savoring the serenity at Serenity Falls or harmonizing with nature at Harmony Hill, these grilling tips and recipes will ensure you make the most of your outdoor cooking experience.

Get Your Grill Game Strong

Before firing up the grill, make sure it’s clean and preheated. A hot grill sears foods on contact helps prevent sticking, and gives those iconic grill marks. Don’t forget to keep a spray bottle of water handy for any unexpected flare-ups! Sometimes fat accumulates on the bottom of the grill and if it gets too hot, it can burst into flames. The most important thing to do in such a case is not to panic but just turn off the gas and close the lid. The fire will die down on its own. There is no need to use a fire extinguisher in such cases; that will only ruin the grill and put an end to your outdoor cooking.

Marinate for Maximum Flavor

Marination isn’t just about taste; it also tenderizes. Prepare a simple marinade using olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, salt, and herbs. Soak your meat or veggies for at least an hour before grilling to infuse them with delicious flavors.

Meat Masterclass

When it comes to meat, temperature is key. For steaks, medium-rare is often the sweet spot — about 135°F internally. Always let your meat rest for a few minutes after grilling to allow the juices to redistribute.

Grilling mats

We do provide grilling mats for all of our veggie and fish cooking. They look like black placemats but they never burn and keep all of the juices from dripping down the grill. They are a very convenient way to cook many unique dishes to perfection. These mats can usually be found in one of the drawers in the kitchen, typically next to cutting boards.

Veggie Victory

Grilled vegetables are a staple. Slice them thickly and brush lightly with oil to prevent sticking. Corn on the cob, asparagus, and bell peppers are great starters. Grill until they have a slight char and are brightly colored — this brings out their natural sugars and flavors.

Fish Fundamentals

Fish can be delicate. Choose firmer varieties like salmon or tuna, and use a fish basket if available. Grill over high heat but for a shorter time. A dash of lemon and herbs complements the fish without overpowering its natural taste.

The Perfect Burger

A thumbprint in the middle of your patties will keep them from puffing up as they cook. Flip only once and never press down on a burger — this squeezes out precious juices and can cause the grill to flare up.

Propane Tanks

If the grill runs out of gas, we typically have a replacement tank ready nearby. Feel free to contact us if you can’t find the replacement tank.
